the first wireless charger that allows you to charge your device up to 3 ft away has just been approved by the FCC. Shouldn’t be to to long before we see it come to phones
True wireless charging is coming
OK, now I’m going to start worrying about the radiation given off by these chargers…
Up to 15ft the video says. Seen a similar video before where the router would be on the ceiling and charge multiple devices below. Definitely the way forward but needs to work like wife and fill he house to be really workable.
Think I still prefer the wired options
You haven’t seen the side of my bed
Well recent studies show our phones give off more radiation than before and the best way to prevent overexposure was to only text people and avoid phon calls alltogether.
3ft is a good start… maybe best for retail and offices? I will get a little more excited when the 15ft version is cleared.
If you are into conspiracy theories I remember seeing a program about an ex military agent who said that back in 60’s / 70’s they were using microwaves as a weapon. His name was Barrie Trower.
(Although throwing an actual microwave at someone could do more visible damage lol)
The hype is real!!
Also looking forward to see some “real” wireless charging technique in the near future!
I’ve seen tech programs showing “air” electric, where only one source of electrical power but stuff works by connecting wirelessly.
This has been about for years, but still no retail units, regardless of price.
Maybe I’m just showing my age. I remember selling the first retail microwaves and placing my head next to them when on, to showing it won’t nuke your brain (maybe that’s why I got me probs now! Hahaha). I remember the handbook telling you, not to warm pets in them, as it will kill the animal ( an American lady microwaved her poodle cos it was wet and instead of getting it to sit on the oven soon like before, she thought she’d use the microwave!.. True story).
I remember CDs n then VIDEODISCS, I had my first modern mobile phone in sept 13th 1993 (my 2nd year going to a tech show). I remember going to the next city to get the NEW Nokia 3310.
I’d love to see a foldable unit, but I don’t want one, and I’d love a phone I could charge while I use without a trailing wire or not use n place on the charging station.
I love the evolution of technology, but wouldn’t want it necessarily.
