Tomorrow is "Nikolaustag" (Santa Claus day)

This year the Santa Claus day is a little bit different.
But we should celebrate it.

Are you celebrating it?

Is this where the kids in Germany get sweets in their shoe?

Lol I hope kids have washed their shoes

Not if my boy is anything to go by @ikari04warrior
I think the idea is they should clean their shoes and a sweet gift is left for them.
I think I’ve heard this from a friend of mine in Germany, either that or it was some bizarre dream :sunglasses:

I am 98% sure you are right I did it once when I was little you’re supposed to clean the shoes and leave them outside to get candy and nuts in your shoes. This is where you hope you have big feet:rofl:

Glad my parents didn’t leave candy in my smelly shoes

I’m sure no matter how much I clean my shoes they would still not be as clean as new and still be smelly :joy:

Great Franz.
I recall my friend in Salzgitter mentioning it in the past, lovely tradition.

Its not easy!

For example :
Christmas 24.12.
In the southern part of Germany and in Austria the “Christkind” is donating gifts.
In the northern part its the “Weihnachtsmann”.
Both show up at 24./25. 12.

This Nikolaus (6.12.) is another fellow, but he looks the same as the “Weihnachtsmann”.
But he is the elder, more traditional one!
His day is today 6. 12 !
Mostly in the southern part of Germany, Austria, Switzerland )

In other countries he is not known (USA, UK etc)
Interesting is the same name " Santa Claus".
But this USA/UK-Santa Claus is here the "Weihnachtsmann (24.12)

And Santa Claus belongs to Coca Cola!:rofl:
