The Verge SPLITS the (PowerPort) Atom! | “Gallium nitride is the silicon of the future”

Hey Anker Fans,

Most of you may have heard about our new PowerPort Atom charger, but do you know what makes it tick? How are we able to pack so much power into such a compact body? The answer is GaN—gallium nitride.

The Verge took a close look this new material and shared their findings in this informative article. As part of their research, they cracked open PowerPort Atom PD 1 to see what’s inside…

Is there anything The Verge didn’t cover that you want to discuss? Do you have an Atom PD 1 of your own (warning: breaking it apart for science, though a noble cause, will void the warranty)? Let’s talk about GaN in the comments below!

Good article after they did this one “Anker’s PowerWave+ Pad is the latest AirPower knock-off you probably shouldn’t get”

Be curious to see where GaN takes us

Looking forward to a future with smaller, lighter and more powerful chargers, hate carrying bricks if I don’t have to

That one was beyond biased towards the un-released Apple one. I believe I saw a “cheap knock off” line in there, which is great because nothing like slamming something that is superior to something that is not yet released and will probably be 3x the cost.
