The Verge slams Ankers new powerwave + charger for Apple watch

We all know who The Verge is as they have many featured articles about Ankers products. Well their latest article slams the Powerwave +pad, which is similar to apples airpower mat that still hasn’t been released.

What is your take on the article and do you feel it’s justified? Let us know in the comments below

This review on verge looks biased. The writer is more worried about Apple not being able to sell more Airpower because there is competition from likes of Anker

Yeah I agree, there articles are hit or miss and most often when it’s a miss it’s because they have something against Anker for whatever reason

It’s an open idea, there are wireless charging devices available for so long and suddenly Apple thought to have their devices should have wireless charging … so they included it for new devices. In the same way, when competitors introduce charging devices, reviewers like The Verge need to question Apple why is there delay in delivery Airpower…

No substance to their review at all. Most wireless chargers and a chunk of plastic. Agree with the Micro USB point. Anker really need to shift from this now.

Writer just bangs on about missed sales because every other tech verge has launched a similar product. He should realise that there are also millions of customers that will NEVER buy Apple accessories because they’re ridiculously expensive.

I thought about the micro USB port, but honestly as much as we all want USB-C there is no point in it unless the device can fully utilize Power Delivery. Why add cost if it’s just a standard power input, it’s not worth it imo.

Agreed, I thought it was odd they called out the Micro USB port as well. It’s something you’ll connect once and probably not touch again. I get it’s a big deal if you have to plug it in everyday, but that’s not the case with a stationary charging pad.

Ouch. I don’t think it’s justified, maninly becasue Apple wasn’t the first company to make or announce a product like this.

The reason I stopped being so nosey in mobile.pjones, is cos soo many preach apple over all others. Doing so by slating other good manufacturers/phone companies… Not as good as apple etc etc.

I got fed up of trying to get good reviews of android stuff.

I think it’s usual apple guilt at being late to the table again, and when it does finally bring tech that others have had for years, it’s slow releasing it.

It buys up old patents that have slipped, to try to stop others developing. Sadly the USA courts cave in to the apple dollar, and give it anything it wants… Especially against those damned foreigners!

If ya don’t believe me, Google it. Apple wins in USA over EVERYTHING. that is one.of the other reasons I don’t like them.

It is not a review, it is a sight unseen opinion.

As such its very cheap click-bait. But you did click on it and you are linking to it… proves Verge did it correctly.

My thoughts exactly. I feel like whoever wrote that piece is going to slam anything that’s not AirPower, doesn’t use USB-C, or requires the Apple Watch charging cable.

That article was such a waste of time. It was basically a negative review talking about the micro USB cable and the price tag. I doubt the writer even had the powerwave+ pad I hope the readers are not influenced by this biased article and actually give the powerwave+ pad a chance :+1:
