The Street on Anker Prime Chargers

Nice write up here from top-tier media site, The Street, on the launch of Anker Prime chargers.

As I look at international travel for myself this fall and some friends, I’m giving a lot more mindshare to wall bricks and power banks. What’s the perfect one-bag companion?

Loaded question, right? Depends on … so many things. Space. What you’re powering. Where you’re staying. Etcetera.

This piece did a good job convincing me of the value of the 100-watt wall plug. But do I need that if I am married to my 733? I know … it’s not even in the new Prime lineup, but I think it’s pretty much perfect. (The 737, dare I say it, is really too heavy for me, the committed carry-on airline traveler.)

What do you think? Is there anything exceptionally one-bag ready in the lineup? Which would you choose?

The new 100W they reviewed would be perfect. It is very compact, will be able to charge a laptop (most anyway) & a phone at decent speeds while allowing a third device to trickle charge if needed. If the brick can stay relatively cool under load, the weight and size looks pretty incredible.

I’d give serious consideration for a desk charger as the cord helps with awkward located sockets and at the end put the local plug adapter.

I’d also not go with one charger just in case.

So say the 4 port desk charger and say a one/two port small folding pins wall charger.

Or just take two wall chargers, a USA extension cord the type with a socket each side and adapter.

And don’t forget a decent size Powercore just in case.

You can then handle a wider set of situations.

My travel laptop is a 11" Chromebook lasts a long time on battery.
