Stereo Pairing motion+ old one with new one
Very difficult to say.
We dont know if there is the same hardware and/or the same software built in.
You have to contact the technical support to get a satisfying answer.
Thanks Franz!!
I just wrote to the support and hope they can help me.
I am sure they will answer you.
Please let us know about their suggestions.
There have been always some issues to connect old and new models because of the hard/software, which may not be compatible
the fw of the two motion+ is the same as the support wrote: “After double checking with our engineer, please note both firmware 36.38 and 37.38 are the same and are the latest version. The name is different simply due to the different factory time.”
So it may work!
My Motion+ stereo pair have serious connection problems. The sound of the slave speaker ALWAYS fail when playing music (sometimes both of them fail, stoping playing for few seconds, alternated). It’s a annoying thing to deal with. The distance between the two speakers is not more from 1m.
Hello!
Here is the answer from Anker.
I have’nt tried it yet, but you could try it too!
" After double checking with our engineer, please note both firmware 36.38 and 37.38 are the same and are the latest version. The name is different simply due to the different factory time.
For the issue you met, we need to document what happens when troubleshooting the device. Sorry for the hassle, but please let me know what happens when you:
- Full charge your speakers first.
- Turn on and reset your Motion+ speakers by holding the Bluetooth and Volume+ button at the same time for 5-10S until the Motion+ is restarted.
- Restart your device and your speaker to test again.
- Try the speakers with another device if possible;try another app or audio source.
- Put the master speaker on the right, and the slave speaker on the left to test again.
Avoid having any electronic devices between the two speakers. Make sure the distance between the two speakers not greater than 5 meters / 16.4 feet.
If these steps don’t help, please provide us below information so we can see if we can move into warranty process.

The speaker’s serial number, located on the base of the speaker-silver sticker. It consists of digits and characters such as SN: ACCF49483. If you can’t find the SN, please provide a picture of the product itself with the Anker logo showing.
Looking forward to hearing how the troubleshooting goes so we can get you taken care of! Hope to hear from you soon"
If you are using WIN you should install the bt drivers given from the bt card manufacturer instead of that default one from MS.
I’m helping them test their pre production firmware and it looks like I’m still having the SAME issues even after testing over 6 months. They offered to refund my entire order which is nice. But i really like the speakers so I decided to keep them!
I really don’t think these will get fixed. Doesn’t look like their engineers are able to find the root cause of the primary, secondary, pairing bug.
I’ve also tried all sorts of troubleshooting including factory resetting phone network settings/Bluetooth complete wipeout!
If it’s a problem just ask for a refund.
