Soundbuds Slim - Any way to switch off 'Power Down' sound?

Does anyone know if there’s any way to switch off that noise that plays when these earphones shut off? When I fall asleep listening to stuff it always ends up jarring me awake in the middle of the night when the earphones go in to auto shutdown. Really hoping there’s a way of stopping it as these are pretty unusable otherwise! Thanks.

Hi @alexpaulgordon
A stab in the dark here but maybe adjust the System Sound volume on your device.
On my Android phone when i change the volume i can click a downward pointing arrow and get these options.

Perhaps turning down the System Sound may stop this?
Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately I already seem to have system volume down, I can only think it must be a setting in the earphones themselves because I don’t seem to have that issue with any others.

For Soundbuds Slim, there is no option to remove that sound for auto shutdown, and yes it is a bit loud :frowning:

For that matter, none of other Soundcore / Anker have that option if i remember it well.

Thanks for confirming, that’s frustrating but at least i can stop wasting my time looking for a solution and buy a new pair of earphones I guess! Don’t understand why a manufacturer would choose to add a feature that must surely be of no value to most people

@alexpaulgordon It is a good feedback for Soundcore Team…

Not the answer you want but a lateral idea.

Turn the buds on and off 20 times, listening intently.
Then close eyes and tell yourself “I will ignore this sound” repeat until you feel you have convinced yourself.

The power to ignore is fully in your control.

That’s a shame @alexpaulgordon but worth a try.

While the sound can be annoying for some (never minded it much myself) I can see why it may have been added, such as an audio assistance for the visually impaired…

It is frustrating @alexpaulgordon and I feel your frustration.

I have the Wakey bedside radio alarm clock wireless charger device, that makes beeps for pretty much everything you do with it.
That in itself is frustrating, but take that to 11pm when you get a call from work needing you to start early the next day. The missus is already in bed asleep and you have to Bluetooth to it and change the alarm time - that doesn’t go down well as you can quite imagine.
I’ve taken it out of commission now and looking for a worthy home to donate it too.

As you say about the beeps not having any value, for me it’s devalued what is otherwise a really great product.

All the best in your search for new headphones.

Hey @paulstevenewing,

As @professor has stated that it may not be the answer you are wanting but is a lateral idea.

How about making the Wakey beep about 20 times and tell your wife to close her eyes and that you and her are going to ignore this sound? And tell her the power to ignore the Wakey is in her control

 I could not help it. I already know how my wife would react and it would be just as bad. So please ignore my comment and save yourself some pain and suffering

Hey @Duane_Lester it’s great to get a post from you that’s not a ghost comment :grinning:

Love your idea. I think that might culminate in me, and the a Wakey, sleeping in the shed for the foreseeable future! :grimacing:

I hear you on the shed. We converted a boys play house into a shed. So if I had to go to it, I do have electricity through an extension cord or generator, some bunk beds, and tv…LOL

Thats great @Duane_Lester i have electric in mine but not the luxury of a bed.
I think ill keep your idea quiet, probably for the best
