Should I fix the standard chime before installing Eufy?

I am considering purchasing a Eufy Video Doorbell. I know that it comes with its own chime. My current doorbell setup has a standard electro-mechanical chime, which does not work. (The relay is rusted) I actually already have a replacement for it, but should I even bother? In my particular setup, the 22VAC transformer is right near the door and very easily accessible. If the old chime isn’t used much, should I just bypass it and go straight from the transformer to the Eufy Video Doorbell?

Depending which video doorbell you get you cannot use your chime and you have to use the chime box. So in that case don’t even worry about fixing the old chime

Can I bypass the old chime and wire the transformer directly into the Eufy Video Doorbell?

Yes you would bypass the old chime and wire the transformer to the video doorbell
