Should i charger my pwerbank when its fully empty dose that make any harm

:smiling_imp:

I believe battery’s should always stay between 20-80%. That will give you the optimal battery life.

However, many batteries nowadays will not go above 80% charged, or below 20% charged. That’s the way it is with most phones.

I’m not sure if anker has this implemented in there batteries or not. Someone else will have to enlighten us .

Hope this helps!

Batteries in general do not like it to be deep discharged.

So it is better to recharge them when power gets low - or just when you think its a good time to charge again.

Better to charge one time more - than too late - because then you end up with an empty powerbank when you need a full one …

Lithium batteries found in devices and power banks don’t have the same “don’t hit 0%” memory issue older types of batteries did. If you use a power bank up it isn’t a big deal.

That said, it is better to have more frequent, shallower charges than less frequent, deeper charges. Longer charger produce more heat and apply heat over more time. Heat is one of the things that can reduce battery life. Charging from 80-100% generates less heat than from 20-100%. It isn’t so bad that you should never use your power bank past X%. But you should recharge your power bank when you have the opportunity regardless of its current charge level. Leaving it plugged in isn’t a problem, either. It’ll stop drawing power when full and will only trickle charge as needed.

If you’re going to store the power bank (6 months or more without use) then charge it to ~50%. Then place it in a cool, but not cold spare.

Remember all batteries are consumables. They will eventually lose capacity and need to be replaced. The more you use it the faster that happens. But the more value you’re getting out of it as well. Expect to buy a new power banks every few years and don’t stress over how to squeeze a few extra months out of it.
