Should I 3M stick my PowerPort Speed 5 Ports to my desk?

Hello everyone, I received, part of the PU program, a PowerPort Speed 5 Ports a few months ago.
Since then, I’ve used it very regularly as my main USB power station at home, but I keep wondering if I should stick it to my desk using the provided 3M tape.

Have you done it? Does it go off easily, in case I change my desk ?
Will it hold if I place it under the desk?

Thank you for your insights !

I don’t own one but I do know 3m tape can be rather strong depending on which kind it is. Some hold over 200lbs and others are small enough to hold up to 5 lbs. So given its size I would say it’s safe to put under the desk

I haven’t stuck mine down as I was worried it would be “To Stuck” and I’d damage the surface if I needed to move it

I haven’t had the need to stick it down. Sticking to the desk or wherever, seems a bit “permanent” to me. I guess it would be more of a preference. But I guess if you want a cleaner look, then sticking it under or the side of the desk would be ideal.

The included 3m tape will likely be permanent.
I typically use Command Strips as I’m always changing my mind.

Doesn’t make much sense to stick to a horizontal surface but it can help free up space if you stick it to a vertical surface like a wall behind and above a desk.

Those command strips are excellent and would be my first choice (I use them for hanging pictures up - plenty strong enough)

To remove something stuck on with 3M tape you use fishing line or similar and “slice” it off. A bit like cutting cheese with a cheese wire.

If the desk is anything but glass I would not use the 3M tape.

If your desk is made out of wood, then I would use a jigsaw and cut out a slot for the plug.

Command strips to the rescue. I love those things. Hubby never trusted nor liked the Command Hooks but I’ve since converted him

These are all the rage right now in my field:

Go for it.

something like this, its good to have this charger on trips :sunglasses: so remove-ability seems necessary, unless it isn’t for you.

I would expect Anker to provide the correct 3M to stick it on or under a desk.

The first one that I had didn’t come with tape and had a smooth casing; when this failed after 19 months I replaced it with another and this one came with a matt case and the 3M tape, so they’ve obviously decided that it can be installed ‘permanently’.

Personally, I wouldn’t, as this is too handy not to take on holidays/weekends away: for those hotel rooms that just don’t have sufficient power sockets!
