Roav S1 + Hardwire Kit?

Hello! I am considering getting a Roav S1 Dash Cam - I was curious if the hardwire kit would work for it. I’ve only seen the hardwire kit being mentioned with the Duo cam.

Yes the hardwire kit will work for it, the kit literally plugs into the obd port and the other end is like a usb port. So you run the cable forthe dashcam and then plug the usb port into the hardwire usb port

Roav S1 will work with Hardwire Kit but I don’t believe it will turn off and continue to draw power from car. Duo has option to Record and shutoff after it has detected a motion While in parking mode, which is not available on S1.

Hardwire Kit does shut off connection when it detects that car battery power is low.

Ok, I gotcha. I was hoping the hardwire kit would help me avoid using the usb port. It’s in a awkward spot without a lot room / messy to wire the cam to it.

Though Hardwire kit it built with power shutoff when car battery is low, do take care if your battery is due for a change, mostly during winter :smiley:
