Cool. Often thought of getting one and thats as far as it goes - could use my phone i guess! Saves having another device.

Tough to use phone as replacement for Dashcam, may be a spare phone with lot of capacity is an option .
But dedicated Dashcam comes pretty handy When you need proof or make note of what happened to the car when you were not around.
Let me know if you use phone and how it works out.

I gave it a try one journey on the wide angle mode and it was ok - I’ve nothing to compare it too other than YouTube footage of crash compilations.
The thing that’s sticking in my mind is you really want 360 degree coverage - for if you’re rear-ended or side swiped.
Perhaps the camera from Google Maps vehicle would be suitable.
