Hi!
I have the Roav Bolt now for four days. I already own a ROAV VIVA, but I wanted to give a try on a Google Assistant-based device.
My first impression is that VIVA beats the BOLT, as it is more stable, adresses my commands better, and I get better results.
But, one pro I’ve found with the BOLT is that you can play music through the apps you have already on your phone, so if you have some downloaded playlists on Spotify, when asking the Bolt to play those lists on Spotify won’t use any data from your mobile plan, so I find it really useful. On the contrary, for podcasts, everytime I ask an specific podcast to VIVA I get what I was asking for, when doing the same on the BOLT the usual answer I get is “I can’t help with that”.
Pairing was also an issue when I got it out of the box, but now it seems to go smooth.
Another funny thing is that the TTS engine tends to pitch the voice some times, and it sounds like a child reading messages… LOL
In general, I always prefer Google on my smart speakers, but for my car the VIVA (Amazon Alexa powered) is the winner.
Hope the BOLT is going to improve from Anker’s side but also on Google’s side.
