Roav Bolt Fails Setup in Update Step

Roav Bolt, bought in April, stopped working a week ago. Until then, I used it, well, always.
Coincidental or not, the same day I added a Roav c1 Pro to the car. (Google Pizel 3XL on fully updated Android)

Factory Reset (12sec press) at least five times. Pairs with BT, triggers setup process. “Updating, this will only take a few minutes”… “Something went wrong…try again or skip” Try Again? Fail fail fail. Skip? Finishes process, but device shows as ‘disconnected’ in settings screen and device shows four dim blue lights & non responsive to button presses (except for 12sec)

Somehow, I got Best Buy to exchange it. Same thing. And (overkill), I returned that one to Best Buy and drove across town to a whole other Best Buy to buy another one.

So maybe it’s my phone. My car. My fault somewhere.
Phone has been Factory Reset, phone has been updated to Android beta Q and back. Phone has been added and deleted from car (2016 Lexus CT). Phone’s Bluetooth & network settings have been reset. No Joy. I have two other Bolts in two other cars and they work just fine.

UNLESS the update process is starting, but fails, leaving the Bolt bricked. Seriously, I just don’t get it.

Funny thing is, the Viva works in my car just fine. But I’m not an Alexa guy!

Tech support has been fun. They wants pics and videos (sent) but no results. Hoping community members have some insight.

PS: Why is this thing shipping with 0.5 software? Isn’t that essentially a beta?
