I have a 65W GaN USB-C PD charger that I bought for $35 on some Amazon flash sale. Anker didn’t have a 60W+ GaN charger yet, so I had to buy from a competitor. It’s great for charging my Dell laptop as well as any USB-C device (like my Pixel 2 , iPad Pro, and a bunch of Anker battery packs).

I don’t think Apple will be shipping theirs any time soon. Maybe Q4? By then, 65W GaN chargers should be ~$30 everyday. Which makes me think that Apple will sell theirs for $59-69?

As others raised will be cost.

But this makes sense if you paired with these other two technologies:

  • phones get Graphene enhanced battery cells, these can recharge faster so can benefit from faster wired chargers
  • iPad gets wireless output charging so becomes charging mat, then it adds battery load to the tablet so you need a fast tablet charger.
  • phones become port-less for better waterproof and dust protection so they need wireless. Wireless ages battery faster so Graphene at the same time.

If you want to know Apple future just work on it being 1-2 years behind Android.

Maybe you’ll get it for a 100 if you have a discount code
