Reliving my youth

So for Christmas the other half got me a Lego Technic of Dom’s charger from the Fast & Furious franchise. It had been about 25 years since I had last “played/built” with Lego.

Needless to say I’ve got hooked and in the weeks since have already added to the collection - who knew Lego is soooo expensive :scream:

But I must admit I’m enjoying this time in lockdown where I get to take my mind off things and just relax.

So my question is - is there any other Lego fans in the forum? If so leads see some pics.

If not, what hobby/activity have you recently taken up (or even a long term hobby) to help you through the current pandemic.

Oh man haven’t had a mess with Lego or Mechano for more years than I care to remember

All three look sweeeet :+1:

As for hobbies, strangely I have taken to watching teppanyaki cooking’s videos in the after work downtime, no idea how YouTube suddenly popped one on my to watch feed

The orange corvette has sooo many alternative builds which is why I bought it - saves the bank balance taking too big a hit lol

Can honestly say that has never popped up on my feed lol and I spend a lot of time on YouTube lol

I’ve always been fascinated with Legos eventhough I’ve never own any. I remember my nephew getting different sets for his birthday and xmas, thinking it’s such a ingenious toy for kids. I didn’t want to admit it but I thought they were and still are, the bees knees. When I went into a toy store and saw how much Legos sets were, I almost had a heart attack! YEOUCH!!! They cost almost and if not more, then video game consoles. Forget the price of the games itself! I love the fact that Legos lets the builder use their imagination and building skills, just take over. When I was in Costco last week, they had a whole tub of Lego pieces. I told my hubby that we should buy one and just play with them. He looked at me like I was crazy. What can I say? The youth in me thinks they are the best toys invented. LOL.

Btw, @k_pug2003, those cars look so awesome. Again, you would of thought you can make it out of Legos. How long did it take you to build just one car?

@ndalby I too, have been fixated on YouTube cooking videos. I’ve also been watching too many competitive eating and travel videos involving food. Just the other night, I saw a video for Hot & Sour Soup and had to go make some. Unfortunately, it was already 10pm! LOL. Since quarantine, YouTube has been a great source of entertainment and learning database for everything… cooking, hair cutting, fixing things, etc. But of course, all taken with a grain of salt.

We have been collecting for years. Will show some pics here soon.

We had some smaller sets get played with and parts lost. So we have a random box of old lego parts. Lol

The Porsche took me a couple of days - few hours here and there between work/homeschooling etc

These Technic sets are not what I would describe as traditional Lego although there’s plenty of those kinda sets also.

Each of those cars have alternative builds like turning them into planes, boats, helicopters and other car variations (hours of fun ahead dismantling and rebuilding)

A coworker got me a small lego set one year and I was surprised how long it took me to put together! It is definitely relaxing, though. Great work, @k_pug2003!

I love legos I currently have a lego architecture set of nyc on my desk. I want to get more of the architecture ones because I love them they are just a little expensive so I’m trying to save up or wait for sales no matter how small or large they may be. I love the car ones though they look great. My brother has a bunch of Volkswagen ones in his room

I am a huge Lego fan. Like most I built Lego as a kid and out grew them. I got back into Lego as an adult in 2011. I went crazy on eBay to finish my set of Classic Space Lego. See my Flickr link below for some of my collection. My Flickr Albums (Lego and F1 mostly)
I would be happy to talk Lego with anyone and give tiips on some of the Lego websits.

I’ve been buying Legos for my kids for years. We have houses, harry potter, various kits - trains, planes and automobiles. Then the all time favorite to pull out - all the left over odd pieces and purchased pieces to let their imaginations run wild. Expensive but worth it. Have not gotten rid of any - someday hope for grandkids to share with.

A few of the favorites. There are probably 4 6 ft tall shelves with legos on them around the house as well as the 3 ft tall Disney castle.

Nice. I love Legos but haven’t messed with them in over a decade. I’ve drooling over these kits and some of the Star Wars kits.

Hey @k_pug2003 long time no speak.
I’ve seen those/similar in the shops and often been tempted.
Great selection.

I would highly recommend them - some have lots of alternative builds which mean hours of fun building then taking apart just to build again :yum:

Already looking at my next set with motors
