ok so I just got the one made for the switch and wondering if it is normal for it to take a long time I have had big 20,000 batters in the past and they have taken 10 plus hours to charge but right now I am charing this one using a fast charing brich from verizon and a fast charing charging usb cable type A to C but its ben at 50% for like 4 or more hours I also just ordered a 45 wat Samsung pug type c to c because I only have 1 and its in use
Questiong about charging time 20100 nintendo switch version
It could take up to 24 hours to charge with a regular USB wall charger. Unfortunately, there are a lot of different “fast charging” protocols out there, so if the charger is not the correct one, it will default to the slower charging rate.
This particular battery accepts a Power Delivery input at 5V=3A, 9V=3A, 15V=2A, or 20V=1.5A. Therefore, a “Quick Charge” or “Samsung Fast Charge” charger may not hit the faster charging rates, unfortunately, as they use a different protocols.
One of the USB-C wall chargers on this page should get you the faster charging speed: https://www.anker.com/deals/usb-c?country=us
Hi @Kevin_Black and welcome to the community.
Charge time for the PowerCore should be around 3 1/2 hrs using a PD wall charger (27w and above) and USB-C to USB-C cable.
I will give it time but not shure that is totally correct because it will fast charge my s10 + fine also the charger it was on was generic for Verizon but I think it had a maximum wattage of 15 to 20 and the other one not shure but that’s why I ordered the samsung type c to c and all fast charger work it’s just depend on the max out the plug will allow
never mind I just found a anser to the problem I used my Samsung 20 type c changer and it went over 50 % so I think I am going to just stop charing till I get the 45 watt one from Samsung later today or tommrow
He is not wrong, not all fast chargers will work. Fast chargers for phones are different than for other devices, most phones send a signal to the charger that triggers the higher power output thus enabling fast charging, but most secondary devices do not send the signal handshake that the charger is looking for to trigger the faster charging rate. This is especially true for the older samsung adaptive chargers that came with the phones prior to the current generation, the chargers for the s10plus will offer a faster charging rate due to its power design.
Also note that charging via usb-a to usb-c is not the most ideal and would still require longer charging times. To get the fastest charging rate and time you need to use usb-c to usb-c with power delivery. That will net you a sub 4 hour charging time
