Q20 Noise Cancelling Noise

Just bought a Q20 headphone and the noise cancelling results in a noise similar to that made by helicopter blades. The noise gets progressively louder. It is limited to the side labeled for the right ear. It only occurs when noise cancelling is on. The position of the ear pieces also makes a difference, and it stops when I press on my neck near the ear piece. Is it possible that the noise cancelling microphone is picking up on something from my body. The progressive volume is akin to a feedback loop, which actually starts vibrating the ear piece and my ear. I flipped it around and placed it on my left ear with the same result in that ear piece. Is it a malfunction that can be easily corrected or a design flaw that results in me returning the product?
