Premium BT Speaker - Is there a fix for static at low volume?

There is often (not always) audible static on my Premium BT Speaker when I listen at low volumes. If I turn the volume up a couple levels, it goes away. Then it often comes back when I turn it back down. It happens where it is charging or not, and both with BT and aux. Of course, I use the speaker at work where low volumes are necessary. Did I get a dud? Is there an easy fix that I am overlooking?
