PowerPort 2

So my powerport 2 that came with my powercore 26800 is overheating when i try to charge anything (powercore, phone, rechargeable mouse). This started recently (within the last few weeks), has anyone had this problem or do I just need to replace it?

Thanks

That’s not normal… I would contact anker at support@anker.com something is definitely wrong (assuming it’s actaully overheating, not just getting warm )

Please dont use this item anymore, dangerous!
If it is under warranty contact the support:

Define overheating, is it getting too hot to touch? Also Is this new behavior, or has this been going on since you bought it.

A charger should not get hot.

As others have said… do not use until you’ve spoken to Anker support. Probably if under warranty, it’ll be a case of placing in the bin, and using replacement.

The charger should not overheat. Most electronics have movistors to isolate an overload and Ankers tech has all the safety features needed. I would contact support on this one.

Anker’s costumer service is excellent so just like everyone else, I’d recommend you to send them an email

Hot to the touch and it started off charging fine, then it just stopped charging today. I went to unplug it thinking it might have been the cables, but it was actually to hot to touch (luckly i have it on a power strip that i can kill the power to) I let it cool and pulled it. I just noticed it doing this in the last week. I have this one at work (I’m a firefighter and i have it in my room at the station) it worked fine up until about a week ago when i noticed my things weren’t charging, all my cables are Anker cables. I tried plugging it into the wall alone and it started to overheat (about 20min into the charge) when I connected the powercore.

Yea, i think so. It’s past warranty for it. I’ve removed it and am using just my powercore (has 1/2 charge) for now to charge my phone. Just gonna need to buy new one.

Thanks
