PowerDraw Winner Anouncement (Weekly updates)

Same here…Tandy / Radio Shack here in the US but not as early as you. I think my usage started in 2000-2001 or so when I started with the NiMh AA’s to power the handheld GPS units of the time (Garmin GPS V, eMap, etc).

You guys talking about using rechargable batteries for decades and I literally just started using them this year

I reckon my 1st rechargeable was a 9V in around 1982. I then got a AA a few years later. I remember them as expensive, and so was the charger. But a lot cheaper than buying non-rechargeable.

Pre-Internet when you had to find stuff out from buying magazines and going into shops, and pre mobile phones when you met people by agreeing ahead of time when you last met where you’d meet next.

Kids these days…

Have you had any bad experiences with them?

There are a few of us here that are very well-versed in PCs and electronics for a long time. I’ve personally been involved since about 1978 in electronics and the music industry and since about 1980 with computers (Apple IIe and Atari 800 were my first). Others have likely been involved for longer than that and have experienced both the old and the new…with all points in-between.

I started studies in 1972, no PC, no mobile, etc.
punching cards, punched tapes, Algol60, Fortran, Cobol and a special assembler
for the TR4 and TR440 (Both from Telefunken)

This is a TR4 (Museum now)
Think a normal phone of our days has more “power” than this machine.

tr4

Then we used a Fujitsu Siemens -> Algol68 .

Next were UNIX systems!

I have plenty of wireless chargers and don’t have an iPhone so I’ll skip this week again. Some earbuds on the powerdraw would be cool lol

Been a couple weeks since the last earbuds on powerdraw so next week would be nice. We’ll just have to wait and see I guess

True, in the meantime I’ll save my PBs

Same here

Have the PowerWave and PowerLine already :+1:t2:

No.

We have one wireless device in house, bought the two-pack pad+stand, the stand is being used but the pad is not being used, so don’t need another pad.

With the new iphone, USB-C, so bought 5 C-L cables and the previous A-L cables spare, so don’t need another A-L cable.

Not much use for AA batteries, made the transition from NiMh AA to Lithium a few years ago, there’s probably only an old radio possibly. And they are USA only…

I’d not burn many PBs this week, 1 on the A-L so I can gift it to those on older iPhones. Save PBs for something more useful.

The chances are also very low on these many-countries items.

I’ve always found the stand much more useful than the pad. I currently have 2 stands around the house.

There is always hope next week’s items will be better

I’m with you on the stand.
I bought the stand and pad twin pack shortly after @professor
The stand is the over night charger and works well with the phones always on display so it couples as a bedside alarm clock.
I’ve connected the pad to the PowerPort III Nano in my lounge as a point for a quick top up for visitors and I.
