I was given a PowerCore 20100 for Mother’s Day. When I’m charging my Iphone 6, the charging stops at a random time before the phone is actually 100% charged. If I unplug and the plug the cord back into the charger it will start back up for a minute or two.
I didn’t expect such an issue with a newly purchased device especially from Anker. This has happened with the Anker cord that was bought with the charger and also other cords that I own. My daughter has the same charger and has never experienced this issue. Do I just have a bad charger or is there a fix to my situation?
PowerCore20100 quits charging
Hi @slhaubner,
First, try a different charging cord (between the power bank and your phone) because if the wattage drops below a certain threshold, the power bank will “think” the phone is done charging and automatically turn off to save power for a future charge. If the cable has been well used, it’s possible it’s not carrying as much power as it once did.
Second, you could try using a toothpick to remove any “fuzzies” that may be in your phone’s charging port. My iPhone gets a nice build up of pocket lint and I need to clean it out every few months. I know it needs cleaned when some chargers work, but others don’t.
If you still have the issue, please reach out to support@anker.com and they’ll be happy to help you out further!
Thanks-I bought another new cord and will try changing out. I appreciate both of your help!
