Just bought an Anker PowerCore Essential 20000 power bank. User manual doesn’t specify one way or the other, but I was wondering if it’s okay to keep it plugged in to its recharging cable to ensure a full battery when needed? Or, should it be unplugged when fully charged? Also, should it be fully discharged before recharging? Thanks in advance.
PowerCore Essential 20000 -- should it be kept plugged in?
Hey @colin.gartner
I have that too.
Now although it stops taking a charge when full I never leave my PowerCore plugged in.
They hold charge really well so I wouldn’t worry about it going flat. In fact, Anker recommends recharging once every 4 months.
If mine hasn’t had much use I discharge it by charging a few devices and recharging it every 4 months.
Hope that helps?
Oh yes Paul!
You are absolutely right!
I took a look at my Powercore I found in the last mystery box last Christmas.
( I hided it, so it could not get “stolen” by the family )
I charged it once and still its full charged.
So I have to steal some energy.
You should make sure you discharge and recharge soon Franz.
If not post it to me and I will take care of it for you!
Ja ja Paul!
You would like to get a “care paket” from DE to UK!
Appreciate the reply. Thanks so much.

We can trade.
The German English Anker product exchange!
You know, this could be a new thread idea!
I had this idea a long time ago.
But Its not easy to realize.
Those trades can be better organized private not public!
Also, believe these trades are not allowed on Anker Community, but possible outside of community, via private discussion…
Ja we were talking about some time ago.
Don’t remember when it was, but I started such a discussion.
Would/could cause troubles.
And because we dont want to have any of those, we dont.
Ill trade my cow for some beans
