PowerCore 20000, Quick Charge not working with OnePlus 6

Good day,

Yesterday I got the Anker PowerCore 20000 as a gift. I was eager to try it out, but quickly noticed that te IQ USB port would does not charge my phone correctly. The charge icon blinks on an off every second. The normal USB port charges correctly, but I’d like to use the Quick Charge functionality. I am using a OnePlus 6, which uses fast charging functionality trough the (DASH) charging adapter that comes with it.

I hope someone can help me out here, thanks in advance.

DASH Charging and Qualcomm Quick Charge are not the same, so your phone won’t fast charge.

I understand they’re not the same. If this is not default functionality in a phone Anker should defenitly inform the buyers better, that the powerbank might not work as expectes.

Which Anker PowerCore 20000 model do you have exactly? If it is the PowerCore Lite 20000 (model #A1269) its USB-C port is input only (charging the power bank). That would explain your issue.

OnePlus and Huawei phones use very different charging tech from most other Android phones. And you won’t get fast charging for your phone without using a charger from OnePlus or Oppo. But a USB-C charger usually charges the phone, just at a much slower rate.

Here’s a better comparison guide for Anker’s power banks. If you can find your model number you can double check its specs.

And here’s a break down of the various fast charging standards out there. You can see how OnePlus differs from the rest.
