PowerCore 2 10,000mAh Vs. PowerCore 2 Slim 10,000mAh

(sorry this is so long) So I was on the Anker website (a frequent for me) and I noticed that there were 2 PowerCore 2 10,000mah’s and they are differently priced but I can’t find a difference other than the fact that one is slimmer and longer (PowerCore 2 Slim 10,000mAh=$37.99) than the other, and the other is just shorter and fatter (PowerCore 2 10,000=$29.99. Is it really $8 more just because it is slimmer, because that is the only differences that I see. Also even though I am happy with my recent purchase, I after-the-fact found out that the new PowerCore 2 20,000mAh is cheaper ($49.99) and charges at the exact same rate as the PowerCore Speed 20,000mAh ($58.99) UPGRADED, even though it just doesn’t proc the fast charging on my phone (Galaxy S7edge), that I just purchased. I guess it’s not to much of a big deal considering that I know that all of Anker’s products are very high in quality, and yes I could probably return it but I don’t know if it is worth the hassle. Any help would be lovely!!! Thanks!!!

I’m not sure about the 10k, but on the upgraded 20k I only get fast charging via the 18 watt plug. I also have to use the right cable, the Anker one that came with it didn’t trigger the fast charge but the powerline + cable did. So maybe play around with the cables to see which works best for you.

I’d love to help answer some of your questions.

First, there are not many differences between the PowerCore II Slim 10000 and the PowerCore II 10000.
What it really comes down to:
-Rubber finish on bottom of PowerCore II Slim 10000 (vs etched texture on non-slim)
-Different number of LED indicators (and different format)
-Etched texture on PowerCore II Slim 10000 (vs easily scratchable cheap plastic on top of slim model)
-Updated Anker logo on non-slim model
-Slim model is about 0.5oz heavier (which surprised me)

The differences are truly so small.

As for the Upgraded PowerCore Speed 20000, it is more expensive because it has the official Qualcomm Quick Charge chip. With the newer PowerCore II 20000, Anker has incorporated their PowerIQ 2.0 technology, which activates fast charging without needing to be certified. I imagine the certification is not cheap, so that should explain the price difference.

As far as your Upgraded Speed 20000 not fast charging your S7, please make sure you are using the Quick Charge port and not the one that is labeled IQ. If that doesn’t work and you’ve tried other cables (the one included with the power bank should work), then shoot support@anker.com an email and they will gladly issue a refund or a replacement product.

Also, if you do get the Quick Charge working, and you bought the PowerCore Speed 20000 from an authorized seller (such as Amazon) within the last 30 days, Anker offers free returns if you are outside the return window of your seller. Of course, you will have to pay for return shipping if the issue is not with their product. But I think the PowerCore II 20000 is a pretty nice upgrade over the upgraded Speed 20000. I really like the new texture and the power indicator much better!

I find it interesting that the Anker cable that came with it didn’t activate fast charging… Mine always have.

Yea I was surprised too, but it still works just at a slower speed so I didn’t think it was an issue I should contact support on. I mean I did win the pack after all so I really have no place to complain

I prefer the powercore slim II due to size. More convenient for me that’s why I bought 2. Second due to my wife taking the first one
