PowerCore 10000 PD charge from PowerPort Atom PD 1?

Need something to charge Galaxy S8+ and maybe small tablet full day without A/C.

Will PowerCore 10000 PD charge from PowerPort Atom PD 1 well?

I have a music player also that use Micro-USB to charge.

Yep, you should be fine to charge the PowerCore 10000 PD from the Atom PD 1!

there are so many models, hard to figure this out:

Anker PowerCore 10000 Redux

Anker PowerCore Lite 10000mAh

PowerCore II 10000

PowerCore II Slim 10000

PowerCore 10000 PD

The old mess here.
Too many models,
They need an app with a model finding function.
The community has called in mind to reduce and create clarity.

I think the s8+ can support both USB-pd and quick charge (someone who owns one may know more).

The powercore redux and lite do not support either standard so will only charge at standard USB speeds.

Both powercore II models will provide a quick charge using poweriq 2. Charging your phone will use a USB a to c cable and charging the power bank will take a micro USB cable.

The powercore pd uses USB power delivery and will charge your phone at 5v 3a with a USB c to c cable and the same cable will charge the power bank.

In this case I would recommend the pd because although it charges at 15w vs the 18w off quick charge (is this right?) you will be able to charge your phone and power bank with a single cable. It may not matter, however, if you are going to carry a micro USB for your MP3 player.

Hi @mrboonmee,

PowerPort Atom PD 1, PowerPort PD 1, and PowerPort PD 2 are all incompatible with PowerCore 10000 PD.

Hope this helps!

Really!? That is disappointing.

Why?

I see at east the 5V 3A output match the input so at least 15W, and you’d hope the 9V would work at 2A for 18W input, or the 15W at 1.2A for 18W input.

Well spotted and a puzzle and makes me nervous about Power Delivery which is meant to prevent the incompatibility.

So you think say the non-PD 5V 3A chargers would work?

Edit: seems the problem has been fixed, read the reply in the comment to the negative review

“…and it has been updated in our current production…Anker Customer Support”

So it may be fixed, the challenge is knowing you’re going to get the newer version in production, so looks like you can either buy one one of the other chargers mentioned or wait?

So even though this specific issue may have been resolved doesn’t mean there aren’t others as you said… That’s the bad part.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I already own a powerport atom and powercore pd.

Just to clarify, which side has the problem, the power bank or charger?

So reading their words as its incompatible with 3 chargers, I think they upgraded the Powecore itself, so wait until Amazon has that “does not work with” warning after the new stock arrives.

Personally I think 10000mah is good for phones, who do not really need PD, and 15000 - 20000 is required for tablets / laptops which do need PD so I don’t see the point of a 10000mAh PD. So I agree with the comment this should be a 15000mAh, so 3 21700 cells.

The fast recharging I’d like.

The plot thickens! not sure what to do. and why do i need to charge with a micro-USB cable, altho my iBasso player uses one so I always carry one. oh yeah, and my camera.

not really sure what to do at this point. fast charge may not be that important.

I picked up this charger for the last trip, altho overpriced I think it should charge any of these batteries?:

going to look at the Samsung charging link. I’ll replace the S8+ soon anyway.

thanks!

Then there truly would be “an app for everything” :joy:
