Power Banks that charge via USB-C

I was wondering if Anker had any of these up for cell, or if anyone knew of any other brands who offered power banks with this feature.

You are seeking a powerbank which are charged by USB-C? Anker currently (to my knowledge) does not sell one. The closest is to the dual 2A input (so 4A total input) Powercore 26800.

You’re stuck with:

  • 2A input, plenty like this
  • 2.4A input. The “USB-C” PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C is a 2.4A input not a 3A input.
  • QC input.

So part of the problem is safety and the limit of charging the batteries inside Anker’s products. You can either use the QC trick which is to eat more power when at lower levels of charge, or use lots of internal cells and charge them in parallel.

There is much less of an issue with turning lots of cells into a lot of output power, hence a lot more choice of output watts.

If you are looking for an “external battery” that charges phones via USB C, and can charge itself USB C… then the PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C https://www.anker.com/products/A1371012 Or PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C & PowerPort 1 USB-C https://www.anker.com/products/B1371111 which is the same portable charger but includes a wall charger too.

Based on the reviews on Amazon and Anker’s web site, it can Rapid Charge USB-C devices like the Nexus 6P.
