Non-Alexa hands free calling using Roav Viva to control iPhone

Hi,

I’m considering purchasing a Roav Viva, but it’s not clear from the literature if it allows you to use it as a hands-free speaker phone for ordinary iPhone voice calls to other non-Alexa phones. Can anyone who has a Roav Viva tell me how they use it to make and accept ordinary phone calls to and from other non-Alexa devices.

Good question! You can think of the Roav Viva as an external microphone for your phone that is for Alexa only.
The microphone on the Roav Viva will not be used for the call. The call would take place on your phone. If your phone is linked to your car’s Bluetooth, then your car’s microphone will be used. Otherwise, it will be using the microphone on the phone itself.

Yeah I would expect so as well. I also question if it would be used to make Alexa-to-Alexa calls like we can do with the normal echo’s.
