No livestream or video recording playback with eufy 2C

Hello,

I am having issues with my eufy 2c cameras they are not showing live video or any of the recordings that they store. I know that they are recording the events because any detected motion shows up in the app with a thumbnail of the event. However when I press play on them no video shows up just a black screen with some sound. I was having a similar problems with my video doorbell but after power cycling the home-base it is working.
Things I’ve done so far:

  1. Rebooted the home-base and router
  2. Turned off the camera (5 presses on sync button and in the app) then turned it on again.
  3. Removed the camera from home-base then added it again (no problem)
  4. Moved the camera directly towards the home-base
  5. Sent a message to eufy support.

Are you recording this in 2k video? If so , you should try to lower the video quality and see if the video will show up.

Although it should not be an issue if in the app but if it is relying on the phone for playback, it may be the phone just can not handle the 2k video format

Try another phone or tablet with the Eufy Security app. I had simliar issues with an older huawei smartphone where i could not display the recordings. Worked like a charm with my iPad pro or other smartphones.

Might be a codec issue.
