Newest Product in PowerConf Series -- Be an Instant Pro - PowerConf C300

Just out of curiosity - what is the complete Windows 10 version - Home / Pro - Build details?

Earlier installers (total 6 so far, along with the beta testing) needed Administrator rights, and hence these were installed in the C:\Program Files (x86) or %ProgramFiles(x86)% , also making it available to all users on this machine (not really needed for personal laptops). Installing this software popped up the UAC (User Account Control), which showed that admin right was required.

The latest update File released on April 20th install into AppData, installs similar to chrome or any application which “does not require” administrator rights., and have been testing this with Anker for this new installer.(This was one of the requests I had while beta testing, to make the application install without the administrator rights. )

This is the reason why it installs into the Appdata - path C:\Users<Username>\AppData\Local\AnkerWork on Windows 10. I have a company issued laptop without administrator rights (no rights to install any application) and was able to install the AnkerWork app and use it without any issues.

Long story short - the latest application does not need administrator to install the AnkerWork, nor does it need administrator rights to run the installed program.

Or talk about future products and get suspended…

I was reading it,
There are only interests in those "artists"

“Out of topic” themes, as we have here ( there is always fun )
are not allowed there too.
But I dont mind.
If they dont want …

Are you absolutely sure of that? Did you do a clean install?

I’ve healthy skepticism, as I think the first install required admin to do device drivers and later ones may not need as drivers already installed.

A clean system with the latest software installation would answer my healthy skepticism.

yes, tested this on a clean system (company laptop without admin rights) since I could never install this app earlier

We never know what others do and how their knowledge about systems is.
So those kind of diagnosis is always difficult.

Ok, really brief review time - been using the camera for over a week.

I have been using a Logitech c920 for 10 years and it’s a really great camera. No complaints. As a result it also became our company kit of choice. We only strayed from that path last year when there were supply issues and I had new staff - the inbuilt camera on a laptop is just no comparison. Tried a cheap one (£30) recently and it’s the last time I will go budget - that camera went right back to Amazon.

Anker happened to send a well timed c300 announcement; I trust their kit, have various power bits and a Nebula Mars, so the £30 voucher and a 30 day money back guarantee in hand…

Writing this short review on a particularly sunny afternoon in my office the Anker stands out for image quality. When you look closely the Logitech picture is a little sharper on its default settings but you can tweak the Anker to closely match.

The field of view on the c300 is excellent - will be taking this camera into the office when we are back to multi-person meetings. I am not sold on the pan/tracking yet because, being achieved through a digital zoom, the picture quality suffers significantly. The Logitech camera doesn’t have the same wide angle but, as a result, its tracking mode results in a better quality picture.

Sat on top of my monitor the two cameras have a similar size to look at - the Anker being significantly deeper and heavier makes little difference in the office setting. The USB-C connectivity works well for me having a laptop with 2xC and only 1xA. The Anker also has adjustment to swing from left to right which is an improvement on the Logitech.

Feecback from Zoom guests has been good. I’m not sure how the audio comes through but will be recording videos soon and will test more thoroughly.

Overall - at the discounted price it’s a real competitor for the Logitech which has been a consistent performer. If I was only using the camera for individual work I’m not sure the Anker would be worth the extra BUT it does feel like the more capable tracking and wider angle will pay dividends when we’re back to real-office scenarios.

I read about that camera at amazon.de
A lot of issues have been listed.
May be those are solved meanwhile by a software update.

Not easy for us here to discuss.
No beta testers, nothing!
Hope the “unpackers” will do and write some reviews.
(seems they are busy disposing the cardboards :joy:)

Or even better, if they would participate here.
Thank you, you really did!
