Eufy Security has just released a more affordable smart lock… Take a look!

Features & details

  • All-Weather Protection: With an IPX3 weatherproof rating, Smart Lock is ready to protect homes in any location. It’s capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from -30°C/-22°F to 70°C/158°F as well as rainfall.
  • BHMA Grade 2 Security Certification: Certified by the American National Standards Institute to work after locking and unlocking 250,000 times, Smart Lock can easily handle the daily comings and goings of a busy household.
  • Multiple Ways to Unlock: Open remotely via Bluetooth with the Eufy Security app, or by using either the electronic keypad or the key.
  • Automatic Locking: A built-in sensor detects when your door is closed and locks it automatically behind you, keeping your home secure even when you’re in a hurry or your hands are full.
  • Bank-Grade Security: Smart Lock stores your fingerprint and in-app data locally using a bank-grade AES128 encryption chip—rather than on the cloud—to keep your personal information safe and private.

Looks great @Insider good share.
I’m not so sure about the key hole being exposed.
For some reason on a product like this i would prefer to see the keyhole covered.

I can’t wait to see AnkerInsider’s review of this! I don’t know about you guys but I’m pumped to the max! I find his reviews to be some of the best and most engaging on youtube. One thing I don’t really understand about this product is why would you ever have this in an area that is over 158°F? Not that I’m complaining. It’s always good to be prepared, especially with global warming and all that. Other than that I’m sure this is going to be a great product.

There seems to be some really key features missing in this. Why can’t the door automatically unlock as you walk up to it, with geofencing, like August and others do? I can’t understand why you make both a lock and doorbell, yet they don’t interact with each other? Should be able to see who is ringing the doorbell and unlock to let them in remotely. Which brings me to why no Wi-Fi or at least connect to the HomeBase which would in turn connect to wifi?

Eufy Security is developing a version with WiFi. Perhaps that will enable some of the functionality you mention.
