Seems its perfect for your lifestyle. It does come in handy when needed no question about that, but would have been great if it was a wall charger. Need to invest on a wall charger sooner now.

I have a PowerPort 5, Atom III dual port, PowerPort III Mini and woreles charging on the Wakey which covers my at home charging needs.
I can recommend the Atom III Dual port if you want best of both worlds.

Would be great to not have to carry another converter on trips. Kind of confused how it’s APPLE only? USB-C isn’t Apple only…

The charger is not Apple only, the “intelligent” allocation of 60W between two ports is better with Apple than non-Apple. If you plug in two devices, either non-Apple, then each gets 30W.
