[New Release] Eufy Security 2K UHD Video Doorbell

Wow that’s crazy!! And that means you can go back to any moment in time with those recordings and view who was there or anything that happened? So this thing should hold at least a weeks worth of continuous recording.

No, I misunderstood what you were saying. This is only for motion detection. It records everytime there is motion, but it records the entire time there is motion…

Oh okay, I see. Well that’s still reasonable and makes sense. Assuming it does a good job at initiating recording when motion is detected. I guess my thought was that if something happened in front of my house, I’d want to be able to go back and view it. At least 5 days worth.

Another question, not sure if you have a google home or not but what I like that Nest Hello does it that when someone presses the doorbell, the video feed from the doorbell pops up on the google home hub. Does this eufy doorbell do that? I know you ask google to view your doorbell and that works but does the video automatically pop up? thanks for your help.

The video recordings start a second or 2 before it actually detects motion- if that makes sense.

I don’t know how google home integration works- sorry.

Yeah makes sense. okay, no worries. I see it comes with a wireless electronic charm for the doorbell itself on amazon. If I already have a doorbell, will that work with the existing door chime?

In order to get enough power to the video doorbell, eufy recommend you bypass your built in charm, and use the wireless one. Technically if you had enough power going to your doorbell wiring, you could use the built in one- but you probably wouldn’t.

Oh okay. Is it pretty loud then the included doorbell chime?

Yeah, about as loud as my current built in chime. It also gives a notification on your phone when it’s rung…

I read the specs and looked at the review. This is the doorbell I’ve been waiting for. Please introduce it asap on the EU market with EU plugs, and I’m buying it immediately. Amazon.de would be perfect. Thank you.

Just curious… what makes you want this doorbell over other brands (like ring)?

Or several others that are half the price?

Plus most come with what’s needed to wire up included in the kit.

  • I like the small design better because the doorpost is also small;
  • no subscription for cloud storage
  • overall better price/quality ratio;
  • good experience with the Anker brand (powerbank en usb hubs);
  • video quality is good enough for me;
  • I have no experience with the ring doorbell, but where I live buyers complain a lot about delays. By the time I get to the door the caller is long gone.

I do recognize that there might be some minor imperfections, but nothing that firmware updates can not solve. A slot for larger memory cards would be nice, as well as 5G wifi, but I can live with the present config.

Well, the problem is that the doorpost is so small that only long and slim doorbells will fit. Models like this one or the Skybell Trim Plus which is more expensive. And the house is rented, so I’m not allowed to make any changes to the existing wires.

Have you considered a SPYHOLE camera.

You don’t get notifications, but it sits in place of the door SPYHOLE, and records everything. Some have a screen, so you still get to see a live image of anyone at your door.

Prices are “approx” 50-99 depending on model.

This way it’s just 2 small screw holes in your door, which is so easy to repair (DIY store)… No anchor points needed.

Sorry, I don’t want to be blunt, but I’m not interested in any other camera . All I want is this Eufy 2k video doorbell with EU plugs. Thank you.

Now using code EUFYDB99 through AMAZON, you got $50 off. I just ordered one this morning and it will be delivered in a week without prime. Now my only concern is if it was stolen, can I still have the footage of the theft?

Did you ever get it connected to Blue Iris? I am considering buying it but really want the integration to Blue Iris.

Thanks

No, I haven’t been able to do anything with it. I can’t even get a RTSP stream from it even though it was mentioned that that would be possible. Maybe a future enhancement?

Thank you for responding!

Has anyone been able to verify that RTSP works? This would make me buy one of these right away.
