Has anyone been able to verify that RTSP works? This would make me buy one of these right away.
[New Release] Eufy Security 2K UHD Video Doorbell
nest hello, but i havent tried eufy doorbell yet
@AnkerOfficial Just got your Eufy Security 2K Video Doorbell, can you share the RTSP url I need to pull the video into my home automation system?
something like rtsp://[cameraip]:554/[video] ?
Thank you!
Last I heard from support, this is something they are still testing internally. They ran into some issues and were attempting to over come them. Please share if you hear anything different, I would really like access to my feed
This is disappointing news, but thank you for your insight, @Kenneth3. @AnkerOfficial is there a beta firmware that supports RTSP we could have access to? I thought this feature was already supported, it’s why I bought it.
+1 for RTSP support
If you have android phone download app “network utilities” then goto netstat by tapping on the top left three horizontal lines. Then tap the play button on the bottom to activate netstat connections. Open your eufy doorbell video app so the netstat captures the ip addresses then go back to the networkuutilities app and look for the eufy app in the list, tap the name to show the details then rtsp those addresses to blue iris or your nas. Good Luck.
I appreciate your reply, but that doesn’t work. The Network Utilities app wouldn’t show me an IP address. Maybe a different Android version? I know what the IP address for the doorbell is on my network, but I can’t get an RTSP stream from it. The doorbell has 2 IP addresses - one local and one somewhere else (in the cloud ) I’m thinking that the video needs to be processed by a server somewhere before it is available. That’s probably why we have to use the app to get to them. I sure would like to put the doorbell on my system though.
I tried the suggestion from Sk8ergrl14 with no luck, after further research I found Android P restricts apps from monitoring your network activity, (sorta a good thing), but that is likely why you are not seeing any url’s. I tried on an older tablet but I believe that device was too old to work correctly with network utilities.
@Sk8ergrl14 do you have a sample of the url I am curious if it is a local network url or if it is a remote url similar to the rtmp url that comes from the python library.
Really hoping official rtsp support comes out soon.
Sorry that it didn’t work for you guys. I have a non brand video doorbell that uses xbell android app and I managed to get the cloud ip address where my storage is saved but when I try to connect via ftp or rtsp it doesn’t work. I thought that my way would work for you but looks like rtsp has been blocked off until eufy enables it. I’m still waiting for anker to release the bloody wired 2k video doorbell to the UK.
Whats with rtsp?
Can you just enable it? You told that engeneers are working on it!
When I go to the help option from the Eufysecurity app menu and select the Battery doorbell, the help/FAQ’s state that RSTP is available under settings - but that is not the case. On the latest android app version available from the Play store.
RSTP functionality would be great, so I hope that is coming soon.
We were told that RTSP would be available before I purchased mine in June of last year. It’s been almost a year and it’s still not there. I’m starting to lose hope.
all i want is HomeKit, Video support
Hopefully they can add this to existing wired bell,
or release a Doorbell V2 with Apple KomeKit
Any chance in heck that you can make the wired version of the door bell work with your own homehub?
I read a message from Anker support that they were planning to make the wired doorbell work with the home hub “very soon”. That was over a year ago. I am not sure that qualifies as “very soon”. Are you guys working on this or is that false advertising leading folks to buy something in anticipation of it working “very soon”? Great hardware, software can use improvements. Hate to let go of a promising company because of early problems with user experiences, especially since Apple is now selling it. I imagine they will drop if the experience becomes too unstable and gets too many bad reviews. Please update us. Thank you!
Best way to communicate is via email, raise ticket. Such support don’t appear to to read here, they created a separate community below.
Thank you, professor, great advice and a great Avatar pic!
