New iPhone 9 fast charging standards

That’d be cool… but then it’d also render my horde of lightning cables absolutely useless. X.x

Read the same on MacRumors yesterday (there even showing a Anker charger, which could be a good or bad sign )…can’t say I’m surprised considering Apple’s track record for proprietary tech at premium prices

I doubt Apple cares. I think they even welcome it considering their margin on cables.

Well, 3 cheers for Anker. Buying accessories from Apple is a life changing decision. Do I want to charge my phone or eat for the next week? :joy: :joy: :joy:

Hmmm… Wonder if I can use some cheap Usb C cable and a lightning cable, and splice together a cable that would work? I highly doubtful it would work, be safe, or support fast charging without blowing everything to pieces, but it might be worth a try. (。>﹏<。)

Probably not a good idea to gamble with your 1000$ phone :man_facepalming:

Oh I’m quite sure they don’t give a rip. But that doesn’t mean I can’t be a bit salty about it. :joy:

I just hope they’ll go for typeC instead of lightning!

I read an article yesterday day that said that iPhone 9 may still be on lightning. The 11 has the chance to be USB-C but from the research they did it looks there a good chance that both phones releasing this year will be lightning. But next year’s phones will be mostly be lightning or at least their higher models.

The new SE 2 will be lightning since its their $600 budget phone.

Don’t get to excited about it. Even if apple switches to the USB-C connector it very likely will have a twist.
Somehow it will only work with apple certified cable so they can cash in.
