New Customer(PowerCore15600) charger particularly hot?

So I scoured the internet looking for a new power bank and it is the first one I have ever purchased for myself. It came with only a usb cable to charge it, no wall mount piece. I used a samsung wall mount that I would use for my cellphone and noticed 3 hours later how crazy hot it was (can smell warm plastic but not burn your hand). I figure if it is that intense they would provide the wall connector? Is this normal or do I need to purchase a specific type/are there good and bad ones in a typical household? Thanks for the help!

EDIT: the phone block i plug into the wall connected to the Anker USB cord that was provided came with my Galaxy Note 8.

Try using a different cable for charging

Also since you say it’s getting too hot, I don’t recommend you using it and contact support@anker.com
