Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. When I have a notification that motion has been detected and I click on it, it goes to live view so I I can see what triggered the recording but the recording stops. This has happened on three different occasions on three different camera’s. The first time it happened I missed the person walking around my yard being recorded, all I got was an eleven second video when I have a set recording time of 50 seconds. It has happened twice more with the same result and I have all my camera’s set to record for specific times. Is this how the system is supposed to work? If it is it’s not very helpful especially if your away and it doesn’t record the incident that was triggered because of live view.
Motion Detected Recording Stops When Live Viewing
Yes, this is intentional on eufys part. It’s extremely annoying.
We should all band together and ask eufy to fix this at the same time. Who’s with me?
@Monica2 @yamyam @Haloweenhamster @ndalby @Tech_Man and everyone else who I’m forgetting.
Yes count me in! I’ll have to remember not to click on the notification!
what version is your doorbell on? Mine is on 2.170 and the app is on 1.5.2_329. Mine doesn’t do that anymore. When I receive a notification and open it, it takes me to the beginning of the recording with a button to switch to live view on the top right corner. If I don’t click that live view button, the doorbell will continue to record.
Mine is Eufycam not a doorbell and sometimes it will take me to the recording if I haven’t seen the notification immediately and I can then click on live view. If I click the notification as soon as I see it which is usually within 8 -10 secs of motion then it takes me to live view and recording stops. I need the recording so will wait to look at recording.
My cams are on 1.9.3
Ahhh, I see. The recording does stop when I start watching the live view too. I hope that the problem can be fixed via software. Eufycam released months ago but they still haven’t fix this problem. Could be that this problem can’t be fixed because the hardware is not capable of handling more than 1 tasks at the same time (recording + live view). Another reason could be that their software engineers can’t figure out how to make that happen. If that is the case, @AnkerOfficial, please take my resume. Seriously, I am looking for a job. I am going to graduate this December 2019, with a Computer Engineering degree.
Ps you don’t have to watch it for the clip to end early
Sometimes it just decides it’s recorded enough
Notice 3 1 minute clips & 3 10s or less with a working mode of 60s don’t end early
If you’re serious you should shoot them an email. Good luck!
I agree this isn’t how we would like it to work, but, like others, I have come to live with the limitation and just not click the notification. I go to the app and wait for the recording to populate in the Events queue, which is not ideal if you think something suspicious is going on that you want to watch and record, or to use the two-way audio while the person is still there.
My gut says this is something eufy cannot fix with software, but maybe I’m wrong!
This is the exact opposite to the Ring cameras where the recording starts as soon as you open live view regardless of motion detection. I must say I much prefer Ring’s implementation of this.
