Mopping with RoboVac?

My wife decided to do mopping today.
Fine.

We were talking about a RoboVac with mopping function
and came to the conclusion that mopping by a robot can not be
very sufficient.

Who of you my friends, got such an Eufy-mopper? (eg L70, G10)
What is your opinion about the mopping function?

Many of us got the simple vacs and meanwhile we know everything about those.

But what about the new mopper models?

Mopping needs to have some effort put into it and through drying afterwards.
Also not recommended for cheap laminate flooring which is quite common.
I cant see how a small device would have enough power to successfully mop, but i would love to be proven wrong.

Me too.
I was reading that those mopping-RoboVac do only a little bit of cleaning
when mopping.
Often smearing the dirt only.
I am sure, that it will not remove a real dirt spot.

Many users see that mopping function as a “nice addition” only.

And, as you said its not so good on those laminate floors.
On wooden parquet, even sealed perfectly I would not give it a try.
Better on tiled floors.

Most robomops use a dry cloth that gets wet with water or cleaning solution, its function is similar to those who use this style wet/dry mop

Often used for hardwood floors and tiles

In my opinion, it doesn’t do real mopping as you would do manually by applying some force and concentrate on dirt spots.
But then, just a normal mop will collect all that free floating dust particles which are not cleaned by any robovac as they tend to escape the suction and spread out due to rotating brushes will be easily cleaned by a wet mop. I agree it’s not 100% effective and cannot replace manual mopping but it does improve cleanliness compared to just a dry vac.

I agree with you.
That makes some sense for me.

So this “act of cleaning” should be given another name.
From the opinions I was reading about that feature “mopping” ,
many were disappointed,
because it was not that “mopping” they had been expected.
