Memorial day and giving thanks

As today is memorial day and we remember all those who serve our country, the fallen heroes, and the Veterans who returned home we give our thanks and blessings to you and your families. Without whom, the state of our country may not be as we know it today, so God bless you all.

I live in Middletown Springs, vt and we have a few fallen soldiers who died overseas. One of whom is praised in our parade, it’s a small town but this year marked our 49th memorial day parade and can be viewed below

I myself do not know who in my family that has served, yet alone died, so I give thanks and praise to everyone.
Let us know who you give thanks and praise for on this day.

We as a society honestly need to get our act together when it comes to thanking those who served. These people literally put their lives on the line so that we can be free. Yet we take our freedom for granted everyday. How can we continue to disregard what these people have done for us? I have no clue. I was on Reddit today and saw a thread about how veterans deserve no respect because they were paid for their job. These same people will say that a human life has no price. All Americans should respect veterans, both alive and fallen, because if it weren’t for them we may not even be a country. Blatant disrespect for veterans is growing, and it disgusts me.

I will ALWAYS respect ALL veterans for what they did. There’s no reason not to. All veterans deserve the best we have to offer. They have sacrificed more than we can ever imagine.

In the UK, we don’t have a veterans Day, but we do have November 11th (armastice day/rememberance day) as a day/month to remember our fallen n serving service men/women.

Every year, I buy a new poppy (the main charity sell poppies to raise funds n raise awareness).

My grandad served in WWII and died when I was v young. My foster dad, uncle Bob served in both wars (he lied about his age to serve in the first).

Here we have “Ascension Day” on Thursday.
Mostly Catholic people here in Bavaria.

I will visit a “beergarden” with some friends.
That’s a place were you can sit outside under shadowy trees have a “Maß Bier” (1 Liter) and you can bring your food by yourself.

The beer must be bought!

Family and neighbors. Many different wars and I know my grandfather helped develop rockets for the Korean war. Some have passed away and different branches of the military all have one thing in common for sure. To perform a duty that is signed on a line that so few understand the sacrifices they made for what so many take for granted.
