Liberty air 2 4g

Just got the liberty air 2 and got it working in the house But my playlist doesn’t work when out of range . What do I need to do ?

Will this work on Spotify as tried a radio station app and wouldn’t work ( in the house )

These won’t work if out of range from your device @Kathycurry65

Hi @Kathycurry65 , if you are meaning your Spotify playlist will not play outside of your house, it sounds like you are out of range or your WIFI and do not have data enabled on your device.

Your earbuds rely on a Bluetooth connection only, which should have around a 15m range (depending on any obstacles in the way such as walls etc).

Thanks for your response - I have data so do I pair this to my hotspot as well ? Sorry I’m being thick

You need to have your device connected to the internet either via WiFi or mobile data.
And connect your Liberty earbuds via Bluetooth to you phone/device and you’ll be away.

NOTE, if you have playlists downloaded to your phone/device then you won’t need to have it connected to WiFi or mobile data.

One way to solve this is a smartwatch with plenty of local storage.

In the Android ecosytem:

  • dump Spotify. Move to, say, Google Play Music.
  • own Wear OS smartwatch
  • put Google Play on phone and watch
  • save to device the music for offline. How much you can save is a function of watch local storage.
  • pair buds to phone, disconnect, pair to watch, disconnect, connect buds to watch.

Then when you leave your phone, connect watch to buds, and play off watch.

You cannot change Spotify behaviour, you can dump them for not supporting offline smartwatch. You cannot alter the universe inverse square law of one the four forces of electromagnetics force which means if you leave your phone further away the BT signal drops exponentially and ceases working.

You can dump Spotify. You can keep phone with you. You if outdoors can make the phone outdoors as signal goes further line of sight.

Most Anker buds have a last used pairing. So you have to manually connect to watch when they lose signal to phone and then when back near phone then disconnect on the watch and connect to phone. That part is annoying but is what you can do.
