L70 no base light

My new L70 comes all the way home but stops just a few inches away from the base then goes away.
The base LED does not come on at all , but when the L70 is physically placed on the base it’s does charge.
I think the base is faulty any similar or thoughts.

Are the front sensors cleaned properly (Infrared ones)?
Is there enough space left, left and right of the charging station ca 150 cm?
But you are right the charging station could be defective.
