WOW six years. It been a while. Although I have not got on for the last few weeks due to work, a broken AC and dealing with my mother in law breaking her hip. Grats to everybody

Sorry to hear that Duane, hope the mother-in-law is on the mend along with other bits you’ve been juggling.

Broken AC is no fun at this time of the year. We are in SoCal & have a 2-story house. Running the central AC (which is broken and more than 40 years old, too expensive to repair/replace) would be out of the question with electricity rates the way they are. We bought a portable AC (8,000 BTU dual hose 5500 sq ft capacity) last year that we keep in one room and run it when needed (except between 4pm & 9pm when the power rates are highest). It serves us well and we can get the temps down to 67F or so if required (we keep it at 70F). Downstairs stays fairly cool since the house has interior plaster walls. Some people detest these portable ACs for some reason but they work well and keep our electric bill down.

Hope you get yours sorted, Duane

Hello everyone! Long time as well.
