I’m interested in the Eufy Floodlight & Security Cam, mainly because I believed it was not dependent on 3rd party cloud servers for operation. Having seen conversations here relating to the outage of Eufy servers this week, could anyone confirm whether these devices rely on Eufy servers (and basic internet connectivity) for their basic functionality?

If Eufy’s servers go down, you will only be able to live stream your camera. Recordings will still be saved to the device, but you will not be able to access them until the server access is restored. Think of the servers as a map for your recordings. If their servers are down, you don’t have a map to find them and you can’t access them. Their servers going down also affect changing the security modes for the HomeBase.
Pretty crappy if you ask me, having a single point of failure. I was all about Eufy and their products, but now I’m going to sell all mine.
