Help me check I not missed anything - next 2 weeks backpack challenge

So help me be sure I not missed any Anker products which are better than I already have. I have time to buy anything Anker makes which is better. I have a week before I travel, just checking I not missed anything Anker made in 2019 than 2017.

I will be traveling light within carry-on flights restrictions, about 40 miles of walking, 7 trains, so compactness and weight is my focus.

Devices

  • Lenovo laptop, has its supplied 45W proprietary charger, it does support 45W PD input.
  • OnePlus 6T, it has its 18W proprietary charger, supports 10W 5V 2B USB-A input.
  • Bose QC35 MicroB input.
  • Anker Soundbuds Slim+ MicroB input

USA - Ireland - UK - USA, so have the UK type socket mostly, a little of USA.

So I plan on taking

  • the Lenovo’s own charger, as it has a C7 socket and can plug in a UK type C7 cord (I have)
  • Anker UK Powerport 2 type, I own already. That will give me 24W to recharge the Powercore, buds, Bose.
  • UK to US plug adapter, have like an hour in USA sockets so mostly need UK power and use Powercore.
  • Anker Powercore 10000 to keep my phone charged in flights, about 14 hours on my phone if the flight’s videos not worth it.
  • Anker Powercore Slim 5000 to keep my Bose recharged as I change flights / trains.

Is there anything I missed which is better?

  • No Anker Powercore with 45W output?
  • No Anker Powerport which does 45W PD output?
  • No Anker Noise Cancelling headphones which take USB-C input?
  • No Anker buds with USB-C input?

Did Anker miss 2018 and 2019 or did I? Just checking.

So USB-C headphones/earbuds is a no go for now. Battery banks you pretty much have covered since the only new Ines are the redux and you don’t need the added cost as yours are already sufficient

Safe trip @professor :ok_hand:

Have a safe trip, @professor! It’s a bummer your Lenovo doesn’t accept a 30W PD input so you could use something like the Anker PowerPort Speed+ Duo.

If your Bose and SoundBuds had USB-C input as well, you would reach USB-C nirvana!

If it was me. And I wanted to restrict myself to Anker gear. And ignored whatever your budget may be. I would bring these chargers instead of what you listed.

Anker PowerPort Speed 1 USB-C, 60W - Will charge the Lenovo laptop at its full rate. Will also charge OnePlus 6T, but at a slower rate than its proprietary charger. And the power bank I’m listing below. Be sure to get the 60W model and not the 30W with the same name and appearance. Note it does not include a USB-C to USB-C cable.

Anker PowerCore 13400 Nintendo Switch Edition - I know, you aren’t taking a Nintendo Switch. Hear me out. This has 89% of the capacity of the two power banks you’re looking at. And weighs 1.2 oz less than those two combined. It can be recharged using the USB-C charger above. Its USB-C port can recharge your phone. Its USB-A port can recharge your micro-USB input devices. And it is one power bank instead of two.

So one wall charger, one power bank, a USB-C to USB-C cable (included with the power bank), and a micro-USB cable. The wall charger handles the laptop, phone, and power bank. The power bank handles the phone and headphones. Add in whatever plug adapter you need for $5 or less (charger supports 100-240V). And the power bank includes a pouch to keep it and all the cables in.

Less gear, less weight, more cost. Especially more cost if you already own everything you listed.

I would also reconsider taking both the Bose headphones and the Anker earbuds. I get the headphones will be better on the plane, but how often will you wear them the rest of the two weeks? Especially with a set of earbuds around? That’s a lot of potential dead weight. And one more thing to keep up with.

first few nights couch surfing in a house with 3 young kids.
Then later in a house with teenager who has a drumkit.
And 4 flights.
Noise Cancelling is good!

I own that already, It is a folding pin USA only type so I’d have to use a US to UK adapter and suffer for 2 weeks it wanting to disassemble, the corded type its better to use the country’s cord and just plug adapter for brief periods. A USA long extension cord works well with a plug adapter.

PowerPort Atom PD 4 would had come in handy, too bad there isn’t any in stock. Wish I could recommend you some chargers but I have mostly used Samsung’s or Anker’s chargers.

But I wish a safe and fun adventure! :+1:

In this year, almost all the SoundCore headphones involved USB-C input. Stay tuned.

Awesome news! I’m so happy Anker has finally decided to take the lead on USB C instead of staying with the status quo. USB C on everything!! please.

I’m so tired of having to carry around two different types of cables.

I can’t even imagine being an Apple user and having to carry around three different kinds of cables. one for your MacBook one for your iPhone and one for headphones and Bluetooth speakers.

The people are more than ready.

Thought they have USB charging facility in most flights? My last flight was 3 years ago, so don’t get me wrong

What can happen with every cable is as you fly through the night, either oneself or another passenger, can drag against a cable and snap off.

If I do have a cable it would be between my device and its battery, not connecting to the seat.

Wow, cool. It only took a year of nagging

Not much weight given its extreme usefulness when thrre are no power sovkets but plenty of sun is an Anker PowerPort Solar 21w

So I own one of those (and 2 of another brand) and I do it use it but I find a Powercore is more useful.

e.g. this was September

So actually a fast recharging Powercore is probably more useful as one finds you get to a wall socket fairly often so the time it takes to have a pub supper and recharge your Powercore is more useful in my experience.

So I do use all this technology and have real life experience. I’d rather a Powercore 10000 which recharged fully in say 2 hours, as that’s enough stored energy to last a few days and if you passed a cafe, pub, etc and made good use of a wall socket.

I think more than a year…

Just as a last resort if they have usb charging, it will be a life saver, specially if you are running out of your juice in your battery.

An overnight using your phone all the time, a Powercore II 6700 is ample, although I usually prefer a Slim 5000 just for form factor, and prefer Powercore to using in-seat power just because there’s less risk of someone dragging past you and breaking something plugged in.

If I were buying fresh now probably the 10000 Lite, for the form-factor.

Nice to have so many variants, each has its own purpose. I still need to buy one of these battery packs, had one (unknown brand) that I bought few years ago when they first came in, which seems useless now.
