Strange question what does everyone do for New Years??? I know it New York everyone watches the ball drop in Times Square but I’m just curious as to what everyone elsewhere does for the start of the new year
Happy New Year 2021! Any positives from 2020?
Congrats! Nobody likes getting shots!
Happy new year everyone
This year I’m going to be expanding my new found hobby of building Lego technic - pic below is gonna be the first of many to come.
Mix bag here.
Bad - significant medical issues
Good - promotion with $15000 raise
Great - lost 35 lbs
Normally in England it’s go out to pub, which normally close 11pm, until 1am. Or house a party.
This year for most people both are illegal.
Congrats on the promotion and weight loss!
Happy New Year, Everyone!
Of course 2020 has been a HUGE challenge, and filled with horrible things for most if not all of us.
I lost my job in May due to the pandemic (Fitness Manufacturer - No Gyms - No Customers - Big Layoffs)
On the positive side, during that time I was able to be at home with my daughter while she finished up E-Learning and got to enjoy a little bit of the summer with her.
In August I found a new job, with quite a raise than I had.
Some may remember, I won a fitness bundle at the end of 2018? It included a Fitbit, backpack and water bottle - I was stoked and new it was a sign to turn my life around. Well, 2 years later I am down 120 pounds and continuing to kick @$$ and get stronger and healthier for my family!
I love you all, I wish you all the best in 2021! Hey, it can’t get much worse!
Set out a couple goals for yourself, And I’ll stop blabbing and leave you with one of my favorite quotes and one that had helped me with my weightloss.
“Worry about the seconds and minutes, and the hours take care of themselves”.
CHEERS!
Congratulations! That’s an awesome accomplishment!
Im going to learn a new language this year!
That is in priority list and as time allows me have some more plans in future!
What will you be learning?
Unfortunately the pandemia stopped all my courses at the “Volkshochschule” here.
I am planning to have an internship in france so possibly if evertything goes fine then french would be the language. Are you also language enthusiast?
Yes indeed, German (mother tongue), a little bit of English, some Portuguese and very bad french.
Whoaa! You can speak so many languages! I am just a new comer in this. Hope i will learn a bit of it. @chiquinho
If you speak a latin based language, you may understand the others as well.
eg. Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
French is latin based as well, but got such a different pronunciation, so its really hard to get into.
My daughter was studying one year in France (Erasmus) now she is absolutely perfect.
If you go there, it will be the same!
I learned French in Paris and then they giggled at my accent in Montreal.
I learned my German Munich and they giggled at my accent in Frankfurt.
Within English there’s a wide variety
That’s awesome! Good luck!
Gut, dann schreibe ich für Dich nur noch in Deutsch!
Of course those in Frankfurt are no Bavarians, though those “Prussians” are eally the majority here in München between “others” meanwhile.
That was like i did not get anything…!
Yeah i have also heard this about latin language. I have more plans. Learning new languages makes your mind more active. Following that.
