Guidance Required - Best Battery and Charger for My Kit

Hi All, 1st time poster here…I have recently bought a Nintendo Switch which I believes supports Power Delivery standard. However, my current kit that I have are Samsung Galaxy s8+(UK Edition), Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung Galaxy Book.

I believe my Tab S3 and S8+ support Fast Charging and QC3.0, not sure about the Galaxy Book.

i was looking at the Anker Battery with PD and the anker 5 port desk charger with PD, but neither have QC3.0.

My question is, is it possible to plug any of my devices into the PD port and get the fastest possible charging without damaging the devices. Would it be as fast as QC3.0 or Samsung Fast Charge?

any guidance in this area would be appreciated

Regards

John

There isn’t currently any Powercore which does both QC and PD.

These technology have 5V 2A 10W as a common denominator.

QC is 18W. PD is typically 27W.

What I recommend is think what is your most common problem you need to solve. Which device goes flat most often and therefore it needs the fastest recharge. It can recharge the other devices slower.

I have a USB-PD device (my Samsung Chromebook Pro) and a Galaxy S8, so my setup has fairly similar requirements to yours. I would go for the battery with USB-PD. That will charge your switch just fine, and it will charge your phone at the same rate as regular quick-charging. I have compared USB-PD charging to the Samsung Fast Charge brick that came with my phone, and I can’t see any difference in speeds between the two - if there are any, they’re negligible. Additionally, while PowerIQ is just a tad slower than Fast Charge, it’s still fairly quick, so that will work as well (although I don’t know if the battery can put out the full wattage through USB-PD and PowerIQ simultaneously).

TL;DR USB-PD will charge your devices as quickly as any other standard that they support, so you should be fine.

YOUR NOT GOING TO DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE FROM OVER CHARGING.:laughing:
