Here is the article of the day!
Google says the built-in microphone it never told Nest users about was 'never supposed to be a secret'
I switched off the microphone at my old laptop.
There is no camera built in.
But I told my family to tape camera at there laptops using and switch off microphone.
I question wether the microphone actually turns off when you switch it off
…with best regards.

You may trust you hardware, but of course you can check this under LINUX!
I do not have a NEST Secure system but I do have Nest products. To me this really isn’t a deal breaker but this is very interesting because most users will freak out over this. Questions like Why? What is it used for? Have you been listening to me? will definitely come up and I hope they have answers. Even though they say the microphone is off but can be turned on by user is still not enough explanation.
I personally don’t trust them. How can you know it’s rrally off just by flipping a switch…?.?
Anything that can be turned “off” on software (OS or app) can be turned “on” once the machine is compromised. Unless there is manual switch
This is how agencies have been spying for ages
I don’t have nest at home but lot of Google home mini devices where Google collects data … lol
Name a more iconic duo than Google and collecting data haha
Anker and being great?
