[feature request] eufy cam light exposure settings

Hi there, I was trying to change the exposure for one of my eufycam since the sun was making the area to be monitored look very dark and realized there is no way of doing this. I think it will be a very useful feature to have manual exposure control.
Thanks!

Great idea

Yes plus one on that for me  one of my cameras points unavoidably to the south and catches low winter sun all day - it would be great to have this facility to improve the images.

A camera shroud/sun shade might help you out depending on the angle of camera.

Thanks - I see that could work for some situations. Unfortunately my affected camera is the Floodlight version so would present problems.

A custom version that clips on to the camera part might work though. I wonder if anyone is working on this?

I see. You need something like this than. this one might even fit with a few modifications of course.

I’d shoot the maker of this product a request to start making the same silicon sun shrouds for the eufy floodlight cam.

Hi, thanks for replying. I don’t think this will solve the issue for me since my camera is always in shade but it records areas that get very bright. So in this screenshot the highlighted area gets super bright which I don’t care about but the area closer to the camera is what I want to see, when the highlighted area is very bright the area closer to camera gets super dark because camera adjusts the exposure automatically. With a manual control this problem can be solved.

Yeah that’s a tough one, short of getting your neighbors to paint their houses darker colors and putting darker bricks in your driveway I think that manual exposure settings would be your only viable solution.

You could get a motion sensing flood light but that probably wouldn’t work very well during the day & blast people with light when they approach your front door.

That’s really helpful thank you

I’m still wondering though whether the hood would suffice - maybe I need to rig up something that would cloak off the sky in my case.

You see I can’t point the camera downwards to avoid the sky because then I lose the detection range in my case.

Something to spend time pondering upons as I socially distance…

:thinking:hmm I’ll think on it.

Hey there - I saw a few of these on Amazon, but a significant number of comments mention that it interferes with the night vision IR, that it just gets reflected back into the camera.

Have you experienced that problem? Which model of hood is that? I’m using the eufyCam 2C btw.

Cheers!

You are always going to have a problem getting a good image with the light reflecting off that white pole, 2 options , move your camera someplace else or paint that pole a dark color
