I’m new to Eufy, and installed a Smart Floodlight over the weekend. Honestly, I’m not particularly impressed. I’m hoping that if I post the issues here, fellow users will have some quick fixes so thank you in advance.

The floodlight looks over my back garden, which has bushes, a lawn, trees and pathways. On a sunny day the trees cast shadows on the lawn, and with a breeze this sets off the motion detection. I’ve now got the motion detection sensitivity at 2, but in turn it’s missing some actual action.

The image quality is pretty terrible in the above scenario, it’s absolutely full of compression artefacts, so much so that at times it would be difficult to identify anyone from the downloaded footage. The camera is about five feet away from one of my WiFi access points - I run a Google WiFi mesh - so I doubt it’s that, and it’s not like I’m trying to stream in real-time. Given that the video is stored locally on the device, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to change the quality, is this something I’m stuck with?

There seems to be a considerable lag before the camera records any action. I can walk along my garden path - which sets the light off in the dark - and back again, and the video only captures my back disappearing. I’d say that it misses at least ten seconds of action, which could be critical.

Google Assistant recognises the light, but no the camera. Nothing I’ve tried (or read) seems to fix that.

The video from the camera doesn’t play at mysecurity.eufylife.com in either Firefox or Chrome (latest version of Flash installed). I’m not sure if it’s supposed to, that website doesn’t exactly look like a finished product.
To be completely transparent, I’ve got two Google Nest cameras and haven’t had any of these issues. Perhaps most importantly, their image quality is significantly better under similar circumstances (one is overlooking my front garden).
Any advice would be most welcome. Eufy support are always off-line, perhaps because of the current issues around the world.
Thank you!
