For those who are curious, here’s what’s inside of the original base station with battery backup. I’m still personally using the original base station as I’ve not had an issue yet and when there was a power failure the internal backup battery seemed to work perfectly fine for my home application. By the looks of the original base station, maybe the antennas could be larger to help with signal range but I don’t know…
